JWCC Board Approves Renovation Bid to Create Child Care Center

John Wood Community College is moving forward with plans to offer child care services on campus to serve the community and students in multiple ways.

The JWCC Board approved a bid for just under $110,000 from John Petty and Sons Construction Co., to renovate a space at the school's main campus in Quincy to use as a child care center.

The renovation is part of a collaboration between the school and the Parent And Child Together (PACT) of West Central Illinois to create an Early Head Start program. PACT will provide the licensed child care providers while students enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program will have the opportunity to observe a real-world childcare environment.
