Virginia Explores Expanding Head Start on Community College Campuses

The Virginia Department of Education, in partnership with the Virginia Community College System, has released a legislative report examining the feasibility of expanding Head Start programs on community college campuses across the Commonwealth. The report highlights the potential benefits and implementation considerations of co-location models, and opportunities for cross-sector collaboration. The Kids on Campus initiative is recognized in the report as a national model for strengthening partnerships between Head Start programs and community colleges. We encourage partners and policymakers to explore the report and learn how Virginia is advancing this important work.
